Hi All!
December was such a crazy month all the way up to the very last day! I will fill you in as I go but first, I must start with putting up our Christmas Tree!!
We really wanted to buy our Christmas Tree on Thanksgiving evening.... but we should have known they wouldnt be open until the day after. SO on Black Friday, we bought our very first REAL Christmas Tree as a family :-) While Tahlia took a brief nap, we got the lights and tinsel on but realized we needed more lights because we were only able to do half of our tree!! haha. So it took a couple of days to complete it. We were hoping Tahlia would really be able to help put ornaments on this year but she quickly threw the ornaments to the ground and gave up out of pure frustration because it was too hard of a concept for her yet. I tried to help her through it but she was just done with the idea.
I am so glad we got the "shatter proof" ornaments too because Tahlia definitely had a great time tearing them off the tree and throwing them throughout the time we had the tree up. It brought me back to last year when we literally only put ornaments on the top half of the tree because there was no chance haha.
The following pictures are of our tree and some of the special ornaments we love.

There is a slightly funny story behind our Christmas Stockings this year. Okay, so here it goes...
this year, we actually bought Tahlia's very first Christmas stocking. After all of the commotion of putting up the tree and Christmas decorations, we could not find her stocking ANYWHERE! Finally the night of St. Nick, I gave up and decided to buy another stocking. The rule of thumb with me and my universe is: If Jessica looses something and then replaces it, she will find it WITHIN 12 hours, guaranteed). Knowing this rule that somehow plagues me, I swallowed my pride and bought another stocking... but not just ANY stocking, I bought a stocking for Christian to use for next year. Low and behold, after bringing the stocking home, I sit down on the couch in our dark living room, look to the far left side and saw a strange dark object resting between the speaker to the surround sound and the lizard tank. I picked it up and exclaimed to Dan who was in the kitchen, "It worked!! I found it!!!"- not more then 10 min. of coming home, I found Tahlia's stocking we looked ALL OVER FOR!
That night, we also explained to Tahlia what the stockings were for and that she would wake up and find presents in her stocking. The morning of St. Nick, Tahlia couldnt have been in a worse mood! She was SO CRANKY!- and wanted nothing to do with her stocking at all! I tried to coax her into finding her presents but it was like pulling teeth lol. Enjoy the pictures!

After stuffing the stocking... oh look!- there is Christians stocking too!! lol |

Her face says it all! |

Oh, look! a little smile :-) |
|
Perhaps I went a little over-board but it feels so good to be able to spoil her every once in a while :-) |
