The day we arrived home from Arizona, I took a test and found out I was pregnant!
I went into the living room where Dan was watching TV, showed him the test and said, "Happy Father's Day!". He looked at the test and said, "What does it mean?" lol Now I know why they make tests that actually say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" :) We were so happy and excited!! Dan missed the whole pregnancy with Tahlia while he was on deployment in Iraq, so everything is new to him. On Monday, June 13th, we went to the doctor and he confirmed, "Yes, you are definitely pregnant!"
About a week later, June 18th at 11:30am, I started bleeding a lot. I was alone. Dan was at school and Tahlia was downstairs with gramma and papa while I was suppose to be studying. I couldnt believe it! I know it was only a week but I was so hopeful about this new addition. All I could say was "no, no, no" sobbing as I saw the blood running down my leg. I know how common it is to have a miscarriage about 1 in 4 end in miscarriages... and I have always been afraid that the odds could catch up to me.
Dan finally arrived home and I told him that I am pretty sure I had a miscarriage. There, we cried together. I was not able to see my doctor until Tuesday. After my appointment with him, I got my blood drawn and waited for the results. 2 days later the numbers in my blood proved hopeful (20,239) but we couldnt be positive until another blood test to see if the numbers would go up (meaning I am still pregnant) or down (meaning I was no longer pregnant). On Friday June 24th, I got my blood drawn again. On Monday afternoon, I called to see what the results were and they were great! 33,616 to be exact! My doctor told me there was still a slight risk that the pregnancy wouldnt be healthy so we scheduled an ultrasound for today!
After 2 weeks of craziness and emotion, we are so proud to announce that the pregnancy looks healthy and s/he has a heartbeat of 124 BPM!! We couldnt be happier!! And we are a little relieved I am not holding twins (as Dan was picking on me about the idea of it since we got the results back from the 2nd blood test). I just think my increased appetite is due to being pregnant with a boy (just our guess for now) :) Based on measurements, they are estimating I am 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant today with an approximate due date of February 16, 2012.
Until the next time we see our little bundle of joy, here is the premiere of our new addition!!
ENJOY!

Arizona Trip Day 3
This was a jam-packed, busy and wonderful day! First, we start off with our trip to South Mountain. It was a beautiful hot day, Tahlia just woke up from a short nap in the car, so she was all set and ready to go explore.
After South Mountain, we drove to Tempe, AZ so Tahlia could splash around in their awesome splash pad! I think if there was any place in AZ I'd love to live, it would be Tempe, AZ! The city is so beautiful and it has that artsy, classy city feel. Simply beautiful, I fell in love right away :)
Later that night, we met Jodie and her family at their home. I wish I got my camera out for some pictures! It was a great way to end our vacation. Some cocktails by their pool , pizza and our girls playing with each other. We cannot wait to go back for a visit! Definitely wonderful memories.

Arizona Trip Day 2
This was a pretty busy day for us! We woke up at 5:30 to get ready for the Phoenix Zoo! We had a great time on the Carousel, the Safari train and petting the sting rays! But I think Tahlia's favorite part was running around in the slash pads! Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of her frolicking on these pretty neat splash pads. In one, there was a little stream surrounding a cave. Inside and outside of the cave, there were waterfalls and slides... so much fun to have in the middle of the hot Arizona day!
After the zoo, we took a nap and then got ready for a BBQ Aaron and Cathy were hosting. At the BBQ, we met some of Cathy and Aaron's closest friends including Jody and her beautiful daughter, Emma (16mo). Her and Tahlia were so cute playing together!
Friday was a very good day :)
