Today was the new student orientation! It was a lot of sitting and listening to lectures. But I was able to get my student ID and books. I met some really nice people too :) After lunch we split into our majors. Culinary Management went into the kitchen where the chef was waiting for us and everyone had their stations all set up and ready to work. We chopped an onion and we "Julienned" a carrot! I never cut a carrot like that before and it was great! I loved working with "real" knives! Dan and I dont have ONE knife that can cut like that... one day soon, I will have a nice knife set to work with :) I was thinking about starting another blog that would be strictly about my experience as a student. I am so happy to be doing this and I cannot wait to get the "Gen-ed" classes out of the way so I can finally start class in the kitchen! I would love to share my experience with you all... this is a wonderful journey for me and my family :)
This is Dan's second week of school. And we are starting to get a grip on our new schedule. Its kinda neat because we are both taking Psychology! I am so proud of us! Even though not seeing each other so much will be a tad challenging, it will pay off in the end. Besides, we went through a year long deployment... I think this doesnt compare so there is nothing to complain about :)
Here are a few pictures from this week. Enjoy!
