What I am thinking

Yesterday, Dan and I were able to sit down and meet with the midwife to discuss the possible delivery of Christian at a birthing center. We both feel so positive about the experience the birthing center will bring and we left the meeting with the midwife feeling so informed and happy.

Today, Dan and I went to tour St. Joseph's. In general I enjoyed it... but felt the "every hospital is pretty much the same" feeling.

Basically we still felt unsure about the birthing center vs. hospital birth experience. We ultimately like the idea of the birthing center more... however, financially (though it is possible), it would be a burden because insurance does not cover anything. In the end, the bill would only be $3,000 between the midwife and the birthing center. And as much as I enjoyed the birthing center as a whole, I still felt like the space was not as comfortable as I would have liked.

We made an appointment to tour Elmbrook Memorial next week and I actually have a very good feeling about it! All I know is that I have learned from the "good" and "bad" during my delivery with Tahlia and I will make sure my stay will be relaxing and enjoyable (I cant stand bossy nurses!).

Dan and I discussed it and we think that now is just not the right time for a birthing experience out of the hospital. We hope that by the time I am pregnant for the 3rd time, we will be blessed with the opportunity to have a home birth.

I guess we will know for sure next week where our little man will be born, I will keep you all updated.
